What is Braille?

Braille is a tactile reading and writing system designed for individuals with visual impairments. It utilizes raised dots to represent letters of the alphabet, numbers, punctuation marks, and special symbols. The system was developed by Louis Braille, a Frenchman who lost his sight in childhood and created a code for the French alphabet. Each character in Braille consists of rectangular cells containing tiny raised dots, with the number and arrangement of dots distinguishing one character from another.

Levels and Challenges

In Braille Academy, levels serve to introduce new characters with some repetition, while challenges test your knowledge of previously learned material. During a level, you can access tips by clicking the INFO button on the left and view the correct answers using the hint button on the right. Hints are unlimited and provided free of charge. In a challenge, the hint button is disabled, and you must make fewer than 3 mistakes to successfully complete it.
